While at the Orlando Chili Cook-Off, I opted for the the limited “make shift” food court made of food trucks because the meatless chili options were few. I *heart* food from a truck…. It’s not the quickest service but the personal touch & unique menu is usually worth it.
After glancing a few chalk written menus, I decided on Mama;s Fixin Soulfood & BBQ Catfish meal w/ 2 sides & pineapple pink lemonade. It was solid fish meal – the cornmeal was interesting because it had a thickness to it, as if it was coated & sat out to bind to the fish. And the side were solid as well (nothing to flip for), I got fries & mac-n-chez. As you can see in the pic, I covered the fish the BBQ sauce, ketchup, mustard & hot sauce. Their BBQ sauce was sweet with a slight tang – I liked it.
So if you see the Mama’s Fixins Soulfood, check em’ out – you may not have a food-gasam but your will be full (just don’t forget to add the BBQ sauce).
